Our Story – How We Got Here

At smartData Inc., we have an inspirational story to tell you – a story that started in the year 1999. From a very humble beginning, today we stand tall as a globally recognised CMMI 3 company. We started our operations with a 1500 Sq ft of facility. Out first client, Angel Investments (US) was handled by a team of three people. Our journey since then has been full of adventure. Each year we crossed many milestones and proved our caliber by turning hurdles into stepping stones.

A Flashback Of Our Journey So Far

Started in the year 1999, our first decade is studded with many great accomplishments.

The list of achievements starts with becoming the first software company in Punjab to be funded by local venture capitalist and also the first one to get an ISO certification in that region. Our growth in the coming years was tremendous, and hence, we were selected by Ernst & Young WorldWide as one of the 15 potential Indian growing company suitable for possible funding opportunities. 

Shortly afterwards, a new operations center was added at Nagpur to support our growing client base across the major international cities.

The year 2007 stands as a witness of a major milestone of becoming Microsoft Certified Gold Partners. The following year, we were selected for an Award for Excellence for the 'Highest Export in Software Development' from Punjab (SME) by STPI. The last year of the decade gave us deserving top rankings in Marketplace on both Elance & oDesk.

Since 2010, smartData Inc. has been successful in making its impression on a larger platform.

Our CEO, Mr. Ajay Tewari was honoured with the “Most Promising Entrepreneurship Award” at APEA 2011. Our CMMI level 3 certification added yet another star to our well deserving achievements. During our journey, we also crossed the major milestone of “500 clients”. On the infrastructural front, our self-owned facility became operational in Mohali, and the foundation for smartData Inc. in Nagpur was laid. 

The year 2013 is only half way through, but we have already bagged many accolades.

We are the Winner of the Educomp Quality Innovator Award (Service Sector) at the 9th Northwest QualTech Awards.

We have received an award of Excellence for being a “Socially Active Unit” in the state of Punjab and Haryana by the Govt. of Punjab and NASSCOM. Along with these, we have been awarded CMMI level 3 certification on reappraisal.

Apart from these accomplishments, we have started a company-wide green and healthy living initiative to contribute to our society and the planet. 

Indeed, our journey so far has been endorsed by a fair share of achievements but, we consider this only as a beginning. We are sure that the coming years will prove to be as rewarding as our journey of scaling expectations has been till now.
